Opening hours & admission
All project locations of the exhibition NEW ECOLOGIES. Gegenwarten II are accessible free of charge.
The artworks in public space are accessible all day, every day.
The Kunstsammlungen am Theaterplatz, with works by Gil Shachar and Simon Starling, are open Tuesdays, Thursdays to Sundays and on public holidays from 11 am to 6 pm and Wednesdays from 2 pm to 9 pm.
Klub Solitaer opens the Galerie Glaskasten from Thursdays to Saturdays from 4 pm to 8 pm and the Galerie Hinten from Thursdays to Saturdays from 6 pm, Sundays from 3 pm.
The University Library of the TU Chemnitz shows the contribution by Pochen Biennale Chemnitz with Ulrich Formann Mondays to Saturdays from 2 pm to 7 pm.
The Theaterplatz underground car park with the installation by Gil Shachar is accessible every day from 6:30 am to 23:30 pm via the staircase.
The construction site with the installation by Ooze & Marjetica Potrč is visible at all times from above, but can only be entered when accompanied by our art mediators.
The Stadtbad Chemnitz with the artwork by Theresa Haupt and Karolina Konieczny is open on Mondays from 3 pm to 8 pm, Wednesdays from 6.30 am to 2 pm, Thursdays from 2 pm to 8 pm and Sundays from 9 am to 4 pm.
The Chemnitz Open Space with the works of the class of Nevin Aladağ is open Wednesdays to Sundays from 2pm to 8pm.
The video documentation of Margrethe Pettersen‘s performance is currently defect. Screening dates will be announced in the calendar.
The video, which is part of the installation by Forensis/Forensic Architecture, can be seen particularly well in the evening hours until 11 pm due to the lighting conditions.

How to get there
The Kunstsammlungen am Theaterplatz are about 7 minutes’ walk from Chemnitz main railway station.
Travelling by public transport
Tram lines 3, 4, 6 or Chemnitz trams C11, C13, C14, C15 to the “Theaterplatz” stop
Travelling by car
A 72 exit Chemnitz-Süd or A 4 exit Chemnitz-Mitte in the direction of the centre to Theaterplat
Coming from the B107/Chemnitztalstraße: turn right onto Müllerstraße, after approx. 150 m turn left onto Mühlenstraße, after approx. 1 km turn left onto Brückenstraße, after approx. 300 m turn left onto Straße der Nationen, where Theaterplatz is located
Barrier-free access
The Kunstsammlungen am Theaterplatz, theTIETZ and the Museum Gunzenhauser are barrier-free. Please enquire about exceptions before your visit.
